Ch\u00e2teau Rieutort is not a hotel. It will be your home away from home, a place where you will feel welcome. The charming setting is a haven of intimacy and serenity offering a luxurious environment in a relaxed atmosphere.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Four suites and one double room offer you exceptional <\/span><\/span>accommodation in the ch\u00e2teau. Each room is different but all of them are decorated in a neo Barroque style corresponding with the time when the ch\u00e2teau was built.<\/p>\n

Each room has a view of the park, private bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. In each room there is a double bed (European King Size) and in suites there are also sofa beds. All rooms are newly refurbished and have a safe. Suites have mini bars and some are airconditioned.<\/p>\n

Six quality g\u00eetes are ideal for families and groups with capacities ranging from 2 to 11 guests. Sublime, rustic and elegant accommodation is heated, airconditioned and furnished with modern\u00a0 furniture.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Each g\u00eete<\/span> has been recently refurbished and has\u00a0a fully equipped kitchen, dining space and living area (with TVs and music system). All have bathrooms with showers but some g\u00eetes<\/span> also have a bathtub. Each cottage has an outdoor area with a BBQ, table and chairs.\u00a0

History of the Ch\u00e2teau<\/h2>\n

It was in the 17th century that the construction of the Ch\u00e2teau Rieutort began.<\/span> In the 18th century it was a summer residence of one of Napoleon’s generals. It was then that the<\/span> northern part of the building was transformed into a wine cellar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Acquired in 2002 by B\u00e9atrice and Bernard Nivollet the ch\u00e2teau went through a major renovation which restored its former glory.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Driven by a love for history and a passion for conservation, Karina and Peter Astleford have taken up the torch and continue of the restoration of Rieutort for another six years to sympathetically restore the excitement and grandeur of the ch\u00e2teau.\u00a0It was a deliberate choice to redecorate, at least a part of the property, in the Barroque style<\/span><\/span> to bring back to life the ancient spirit of the house. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Karina’s and Peter’s intention from the very start was to share this enchanting setting with their guests who often become friends.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A rather unique Polish-English couple, Karina & Peter decided to find a fascinating house in the south of France and share it, in the form of suites and holiday homes, with people animated by the same ideas and desires.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Together they created a friendly and relaxing place with a touch of elegance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their passion for history and architecture led them to the crazy project of renovating\u00a0 the 18th century wine estate Rieutort to offer their guests the splendor and luxury of the aristocrats of the time at a rather modest price<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
